400 word synopsis
Whilst getting my ideas for our thriller film, I watched the thriller “one hour photo” and also “shutter island” these are two totally different thrillers. This gave me a basic idea for my ideas and what I can do within my story-line but also lighting and music, both of these showed a great and deep detail into one person and what they do.
From the films, which I watched, I gained ideas of:
From the films, which I watched, I gained ideas of:
· Focusing on one person and the weird/wonderful things that they do, this was gained from the film “one hour photo” this gives a good base to focus and build a story line behind.
· We thought of a news report being heard in the background, while the screen in blank but then slowly showing small clips through out the movie. This news report was about the man and his dealings through out what he has done being reported.
· From the films which I watched I discovered the use of lighting has been a key point, so I believe that a dark scene would be good start this could be just dark lighting at night or totally black and white.
· The music that could be used in our film should be a soft beat with sounds from a violin or a light instrument.
· I had the idea of the opening of hardly any speech, and just focusing on solely music and sound from the main character this could then slowly build tension and ask questions to the audience, so they could be thinking “who is he?” “what is he doing?”
· Another idea which I had was the opening could be like the main character is waking up, so it is a good way to introduce the main character showing what he is like, and what weird/wonderful things he does during the opening
· Also I think our opening should consist of things happening through out the movie e.g little snippets of things the main character gets up to but not showing the full extent of the work which he does.
