Thriller target audience

The target audience of a thriller is really based down to the type of thriller, as thriller have a mass supply of sub-genres we cannot just say one group of people are going to like all thrillers as they wont. Thrillers that are rated for older people such as silence of the lambs are aimed at perhaps a younger male audience but then again there are people from all age groups that could still enjoy watching this film. The target audience can be different to the audience that they receive, just because they are aiming the film at an adult for example, doesn’t mean that younger or even older audiences wouldn’t enjoy it. Thrillers with a sub genre of crime may appeal to more adult people as they like to think about films, but this could just be stereo typical as we cant base one persons views within a set base of people. A young person that is interested in psychology could love psychological thrillers even though they are not the target audience.
